Solana SPL Token

How to Create a Solana Token in 2026

Creating a Solana SPL token takes under 5 minutes and requires no coding. You need a Phantom wallet, a small amount of SOL for fees, and a logo image. This guide walks through every step.

What You Need Before You Start

Before launching your token, have these four things ready:

  • Install Phantom wallet from phantom.app and fund it with SOL. Phantom is the recommended wallet for Solana.
  • Have at least 0.1 SOL ready for the platform fee, plus a small network fee under 0.01 SOL.
  • Prepare a square token logo in PNG, JPG, or WEBP format. At least 200x200px for best quality.
  • Decide your token name, symbol, total supply, and decimals before you start.
Not sure on supply? Most memecoins and community tokens use 1,000,000,000 (1 billion) with 9 decimals. This is the Solana standard and pre-filled on the form.

Step-by-Step: Create Your Solana Token

  1. 1
Go to the Solana token creator Head to uselaunchify.com/create-token/solana/. This is a live form connected directly to Solana mainnet. No account or signup required.
  2. 2
Fill in your token details Enter your token name (e.g. "Space Cat"), symbol (e.g. "SCAT"), total supply, and decimals. Supply and decimals are pre-filled with Solana defaults - change them if needed.
  3. 3
Write a description (optional but recommended) A brief description of your token is stored in the on-chain metadata. It shows up on Solscan and wallets that display token info.
  4. 4
Upload your token logo Drag your image onto the upload area or click to browse. The image is stored in the token metadata URI which gets written to Solana alongside your token. Use a clean square logo for best results across wallets and DEXs.
  5. 5
Choose your add-ons Each optional add-on costs +0.1 SOL. Revoke Freeze Authority prevents account freezing. Revoke Mint Authority permanently caps supply. Revoke Update Authority locks metadata forever. These boost trust with traders and are often expected for memecoins.
  6. 6
Connect your wallet and approve the transaction Click "Create Solana Token". If your Phantom wallet isn't connected, it will prompt you to connect. You'll then see one Phantom popup asking you to approve the SOL payment. Click Confirm - that's the only action needed from you.
  7. 7
Your token is deployed Within 30 seconds your SPL token is live on Solana mainnet. You'll see your mint address and transaction signature. Copy the mint address - you'll need it to add liquidity on Raydium or list on Jupiter.

Understanding Token Authorities

When you create an SPL token, three authorities are assigned to your wallet by default. You can revoke each one at creation time:

Mint Authority

Whoever holds mint authority can create more tokens at any time. Revoking it makes your total supply permanent and unchangeable. For memecoins especially, traders expect this to be revoked - an active mint authority is a red flag.

Freeze Authority

This authority can freeze individual token holder accounts, preventing them from transferring tokens. Revoking it means no one can ever lock a holder out of their tokens. Most serious projects revoke this.

Update Authority

Controls who can update the token's metadata (name, symbol, logo, description). Revoking it locks your metadata permanently. Do this once you're confident in your branding.

Authority revocations are permanent. Once revoked, they cannot be restored. Revoke only what you're certain about at launch time.

Cost Breakdown

ItemCost
Base token creation fee0.1 SOL
Revoke Freeze Authority+0.1 SOL
Revoke Mint Authority+0.1 SOL
Revoke Update Authority+0.1 SOL
Social links add-on+0.1 SOL
Creator info add-on+0.1 SOL
Solana network fee< 0.01 SOL

A typical launch with all three authority revocations costs 0.4 SOL total. At current prices, this is a fraction of what a developer would charge for the same result.

After Your Token is Deployed

Once your token is live on Solana, here is what most founders do next:

  • Add liquidity on Raydium (create a trading pair) so people can buy and sell your token
  • Submit your token info to Jupiter for routing across Solana DEXs
  • Verify your token metadata on Solscan so the logo and description display correctly
  • Share your mint address in your community (Telegram, Twitter/X)
  • Dexscreener and Birdeye pick up new pairs automatically once liquidity is added - no manual submission needed

Frequently Asked Questions

Creating a Solana token on Launchify starts from 0.1 SOL. Optional add-ons (revoke authorities, social links, creator info) each add 0.1 SOL. You also pay a tiny Solana network fee under 0.01 SOL. A full launch with three revocations costs 0.4 SOL total.
No coding is needed. Launchify handles all the smart contract logic. You fill in a form, upload an image, and approve one wallet transaction. The token is deployed automatically.
The form takes 2-3 minutes to fill in. Token deployment on Solana completes in under 30 seconds. From opening the page to having a live token in your wallet, expect under 5 minutes.
Yes. Open the Phantom mobile app, tap the browser icon, navigate to uselaunchify.com/create-token/solana/, and connect your wallet. The site is fully mobile-optimised.
Phantom, Solflare, Backpack, Coinbase Wallet, and Trust Wallet are all supported. Phantom is the most widely used and recommended for a smooth experience.
Your token is sent directly to your wallet after creation. Other wallets and DEX interfaces will display your token once it has trading activity or if users manually import the mint address.
Launchify deploys to Solana mainnet. For devnet testing, you can use Solana CLI tools directly. However, the creation process on mainnet is identical and the fees are low enough that many founders skip devnet testing.
